Personal:

Married with 2 kids. My personal story is that at the time I started running, I was 5'11", 255lbs. When my daughter was born I realized how important it was to me to not only be there for all of her significant milestones and life events, but how important it was to truly BE THERE. By that I mean that I needed to be the BEST version of myself physically, so that I could be a great example to her, and could be a healthy participant in all of life's magical events. When I first started, I could finish a mile (barely) on a good day in about 11-12 minutes. Now, I am running 40 miles a week as I prepare for my first full marathon and currently weigh 170lbs.

LSD - total time 1:10:02. (9:25/mile) This run was supposed to be 10 miles, but I had raced the day before, so I cut the distance short and took it easy to make sure I didn't risk injury ahead of the more difficult weeks to come in my marathon training plan. Overall mileage for the week was right on plan, due to the increase on Saturday. Quads and calves felt sore afterwards, but it was a good kind of sore. The kind you get when you know you have put a tough week in and gotten stronger. They felt pretty good when I woke up Monday morning.

Total Time - 28:53. Took it very easy to keep the legs fresh ahead of probably the toughest training week I have ever taken on. Did three strides afterwards to get the legs firing. Felt sluggish at first but the run got better as I went on. Dreading the two mid week 8 milers (one hills, one with 6 miles at MP) coming up, followed by a 14 mile LSD. Only gets tougher from here though! Good news is the quads and hamstrings feel completely recovered after my race on Saturday, so physically in a good spot.

Hill Run - Total Time - 1:15:06 (9:23 PACE). I was really dreading this workout, but it really was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. My first two miles were the slowest, and my last two the fastest. It really built some confidence, which is good going into the tougher training sessions to come. Legs finally feel fully recovered after the 10k on Saturday, which is FANTASTIC.
